  • Support Vehicle if you need bringing on to the camp, or back to the finish.

The Dorset Dirt Dash 5050 Bikepacking Event is split over two days with an overnight camp on 29/30 May 2027.


What else do you need to know before entering:

  • When: Saturday 29 May to Sunday 30 May 2027
  • Format: non-timed, self-supported reliability trial bikepacking with overnight camping 
  • Route: around 152km /100 miles with 2,000m of climbing.

 

The Dorset Dirt Dash 5050 Bikepacking Event is split over two days with an overnight camp on 29/30 May 2027.


What else do you need to know before entering:

  • When: Saturday 29 May to Sunday 30 May 2027
  • Format: non-timed, self-supported reliability trial bikepacking with overnight camping 
  • Route: around 152km /100 miles with 2,000m of climbing. 
  • Entries: £99
  • Navigation: The route will be supplied electronically before the event. The course is not marked, you are responsible for your own navigation.
  • Bikes: mountain bikes & gravel bikes (e-bikes are allowed, but we cannot guarantee charging points) with a minimum recommended tire size of 40mm, which must be in good working order
  • Terrain: Singletrack, gravel paths, forestry roads, public roads, cycle paths
  • Start: sign on at 8am at Square & Compass in Worth Matravers ( BH19 3LF ).
  • Finish: Sunday afternoon/evening at the Square & Compass
  • What is provided: rider briefing, route for navigation, campsite, evening meal, breakfast, and vehicle support if you need a hand.
  • Camping: We provide a nice place to pitch your tent with other riders, toilets, drinking water supply, and catering. There are no other facilities on site (shop etc.) But there is a small supermarket at the other end of the village. However, we do have a bar.
  • Food: Riders will be provided with a complimentary evening meal. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free version are available on request (please let us know when you sign up). 
  • Minimum kit: Helmet, front and rear lights, sufficient water, emergency blanket or sleeping bag, waterproof jacket, first aid kit, phone or GPS for navigation, multitool, spare tube, bell, tire levers, puncture repair kit, tent/bivvy bag/tarp. You need to carry all your own kit.
  • Insurance:  All riders are covered by third party insurance for the duration of the event. The cost of this is included in your entry fee. This does not cover any ‘Rider on Rider’ incident, or personal injury, personal possessions etc. Organisers cannot take responsibility for loss or damage of personal possessions during the event. You should arrange your own insurance if you require this. 
  • Refunds: No refunds. You can insure your entry for an additional fee (service is offered by a third party).
  • Registration & Rider Briefing
    You need to register for the event. Registration is open on Saturday 30 May from 8am. All riders MUST attend a rider briefing at 8.45am.
